Happy Cactus Creative Coaching is a safe and inclusive space for young people to be creative.  We believe that giving young people opportunities to explore their feelings and emotions through art and self expression is vital to support emotional resilience, good mental health and to build confidence.

Sessions are made up of an hour of skills coaching, which is usually themed around something which supports the young people to better understand their emotions, build confidence and talk about the things that matter to them. 

 

The second hour is self directed by the young person. They can either chose their own art activity, supported by coaches, or continue with the art from the first hour. We know that some young people find comfort in practising the same art styles or creating similar art each week, and the second hour allows for the young person to make their own choices. 

 
Happy Cactus is committed to using informal spaces to support young people to improve their mental health and this mission underpins everything we do. 

 

The creative coaching sessions are delivered by experienced coaches who support the young people to build confidence, express themselves and have fun.

 

All materials are provided

Children should attend in old clothes as we use acrylic paint, which can permanently stain clothing.
